The City of Canning’s free Outdoor Yoga at Shelley Foreshore kicked off last week, attracting more than 90 yoga enthusiasts of all ages.
The 45-minute early-evening session offered participants the opportunity to exercise on the bank of the Canning River, guided by the City’s qualified Leisure instructors.
Mayor of the City of Canning, Patrick Hall, said the outdoor yoga classes provided an opportunity for the City to connect with residents and invited all to come along and enjoy the free event.
“Creating the free outdoor Yoga class – in one of the most beautiful public spaces in the City – is a great way to showcase the very best of the City of Canning,” Mayor Hall said.
“It was lovely to see such a good turnout for our first event, and registrations continue to fly in so we are expecting an even bigger turnout this week. We even had families attend the class and then stick around for a picnic afterwards.”
The free Outdoor Yoga Classes are being held every Wednesday at Shelley Foreshore from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm, until March 26, 2025.
Those attending are asked to bring along a water bottle, towel, and yoga mat.
