In an effort to ease the cost of living, WA Seniors are now eligible for a four-cent-per-litre fuel discount, thanks to a new partnership between the State Government and United Petroleum.
Holders of a WA Seniors Card can take advantage of the discount by registering online for the United app or requesting a plastic discount card.
Once registered, holders can use the barcode on the app or swipe the card at any of the 34 participating United service stations across Western Australia to receive the four-cent-per-litre discount on their fuel purchases.
In the cities of Armadale, Gosnells, Canning, and Serpentine-Jarrahdale, there are several United service stations, including locations in Armadale, Byford, Southern River, and Maddington.
It’s estimated that seniors who use the discount could save up to $70 annually on fuel costs.
Seniors and Ageing Minister Don Punch expressed his commitment to assisting older Western Australians with the rising cost of living.
“The WA Seniors Card program continues to expand its valuable benefits to Western Australian seniors during a time where every dollar counts,” he said.
“Rising fuel costs can put pressure on household budgets and I would like to thank United Petroleum for their commitment to reducing the cost of living with this new fuel partnership.”
Judith Russell, United Petroleum’s head of loyalty, is hopeful that the new fuel discount partnership will provide valuable savings for WA Seniors.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the WA Seniors Card program to provide WA Seniors with the opportunity to save four cents per litre off the price of fuel at participating United service stations across the country, including 23 metropolitan and 11 regional WA locations,” she said.
“United is 100 per cent behind helping seniors save at the bowser. Our already low fuel prices together with this discount helps provide further relief to the cost of living. We’re proud to be the go-to fuel service station of choice for thousands of seniors right across WA.”
The State Government is also reminding WA Seniors Card members that they can access a $400 Safety and Security Rebate, which has already been claimed by over 30,000 seniors for eligible home security, electrical, or fire safety items.
