Moto enthusiasts were encouraged to have a go at a quad only day this month at the AJS motorcycle club.
Mundijong rider and club member Daniel Soltoggio said the event would be a great opportunity for quad bike riders to ride in a safe and regulated event, while boosting rider numbers.
“The numbers have started dwindling slowly over the years but we’ve seen an increase recently so we want to encourage that,” he said.
“There’s a lot of clubs that don’t like quads riding in their events because there’s a bit of bad blood between two wheelers versus four wheelers so it’s important to have quad events.
“It’s not really that one’s better than the other, they’re just different and I personally find quads a bit easier to ride and a bit more fun, it’s each to their own.”
Mr Soltoggio said it was an open event that would be family friendly.
“Quad bike riding in general is family friendly and you do find that whole families will rock up to events and they’ll all have a ride,” he said.
“Everyone in my family rides quad bikes including my mum and my sister so we all go and have a ride together.
“It’s also a really controlled and safe environment at the track.”
He said spectators were also welcome.
The quad only day would be held on July 26 at the AJS motorcycle club in Wattle Avenue, East Neerabup, next to Barbagallo raceway.
Gates would open at 7.30am.
Riders must have safety riding gear, nerf bars and a lanyard kill switch.
