Captain of the Armadale youth soccer team Lochlan Cameron is set to attend the Platinum International Football Academy next year.

The prestigious academy based in Liverpool develops well rounded, responsible and much sought after players, who go on to become successful professionals.

The Roleystone resident and year 11 student said he was really excited about the opportunity.

“I can’t wait,” he said.

“It will be an adventure.”

Lochlan is one of 20 players to have been selected from 150, following a three-day camp in Joondalup earlier this year.

The lifelong Chelsea supporter said it is an incredible opportunity for him.

He said his family Roddy, Beth and Mattie, and his friends and coaches have all encouraged and supported him.

“David Andrews, Martin Smith, Scott Richardson and Adi Juric have all helped me,” he said.

“Big thanks to my coaches.”

Armadale Soccer Club took to Facebook to congratulate Lochlan.

The club wrote the coaches who selected Lochlan were impressed with his attitude.

They said he was excellent and embraced the intensity required flying into tackles and scoring a brilliant goal.
