The Byford Basketball Association’s under 10 competition was well underway and going well with four teams performing better and better each week.

On August 7 the Lions played the Cougars while the Leopards took on the Panthers.

Byford Basketball Association president Trevor Holmes said the games have been great.

“In our under 12s we had the Crocs running out the winners over the Wallabies,” he said.

“Then the Koalas defeated the Quokkas in a very spirited game.”

Mr Holmes said every week the competitions were growing with more players signing up as the spreads that Byford basketball has started.

“The community has welcomed the aspect of a sporting association which is available to the community for the community,” he said.

All games were played at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre on Monday nights with the under 10s games starting at 4pm followed by the under 12s at 4.45pm and finishing the night with the under 14s at 5.30pm.

The under 16s and 18s play combined on Wednesdays from 5pm.

The club’s No Pressure Basketball game for five to 10-year-olds was played at 4pm on Wednesdays.
