The Rotary Club of Canning is gearing up for a night of laughter, with Comedy for a Cause set to take over Willetton sports centre next Friday 17, September.
The night will feature a line-up of local and overseas comedians, sure to stir some laughter for a good cause.
Local comedians Chris Shin, Pony Knox, and Matt Storer will take to the stage, along with Jon Pinder, all the way from the UK.
The Rotary Club will be running a raffle for gold coin donations, with all money raised going towards local community organisations and Rotary projects in the community.
Some of these include supporting a Rotary Youth Leadership seminar, sponsoring a teenager in a Rotary Program of Enrichment weekend, medical research and Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children.
Doors open at 7pm for a two and a half hour show with an interval for tea and biscuits.
Director of Community for Rotary Club of Canning, Jill Dawkins said the event is set to be a fun night of laughs and entertainment.
“People are needed to make this event a success. This is the first time we have been involved in an event such as this,” she said.
“Rotary supports so many worthy projects and as we are all volunteers every dollar goes straight to our causes.
“Our aim is to raise as much as we can on the night. The target is around $2,000 to $4,000.”
Tickets are $35 and are available at comedyforacause.net/rcc
