Players of all skills and abilities are invited to come along and try walking hockey in a bid to get outdoors and keep active.
Dale Hockey Club is providing free walking hockey sessions once a week until November 27 at its local ground of Bob Blackburn Reserve.
The club is hoping to continue the sessions from February next year should people be interested in taking part.
Publicity officer Jeremy Dunnet said the sport provides people of all ages with an easy-going activity without any big commitment.
“The idea was to provide something to keep the club active over the off-season and we decided on walking hockey after seeing some success by other clubs in Perth doing it,” he said.
The rules are slightly different in that players can only walk, the ball cannot be raised intentionally or unintentionally into the air and players can only push the ball.
The basic fouls and violations still apply however they are given leniency.
The next session will be held on November 27 from 5.30pm to 7pm at Bob Blackburn Reserve.
