Ebz Collin’s cut her hair to support Princess Margaret Hospital at this year’s Telethon.

Byford couple Ebz and Ron Collins cut their hair to raise money for this year’s Telethon which ran over the weekend of October 15 and 16.

Mr Collins grew his mullet for eight years but when the go fund me page was not getting the hoped for response Mrs Collins said if $1000 was reached she too would cut her hair.

Mrs Collins said she had two nephews who have both had major surgery.

“One had a major head reconstruction and the other had heart surgery,” she said.

“Also, our children suffer from eczema and our eldest son is prone to getting cold sores in and around his eyes so we have had regular appointments with dermatologists and ophthalmologists at PMH and emergency visits.

“We just wanted to give back and raise as much money as we could.”

Mr and Mrs Collins raised $1300 and plan on doing it again next year.

Mrs Collins said her husband wants to grow out his beard and she would cut her hair again.

“I’ll do it for sure,” she said.

“To know that people will support me and my husband in doing something that is going to raise money for such a special cause I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
