Hundreds of locals turned out to the Gosnells ANZAC Day dawn service last Thursday in a mark of respect and gratitude.
People from all walks of life, diggers through to children and relatives gathered in the breaking dawn light to prepare for the march to the Gosnells war memorial.
Fred Flor, Gosnells RSL President, said there was probably two to three thousand people in attendance.
“I thought considering it was a cold day it was a great turnout,” he said.
I had a lot of positive comments from people in the community about the whole event.
“Thank you to John Calvin Christian College who were wonderful, including Sharon Terpstra for playing the last post,” he said.
City of Gosnells mayor Terresa Lynes, who attended the event, said the city was proud to support the Gosnells sub-branch of the RSL in hosting the event.
“It is always heartening to see our community come together to commemorate Anzac Day and remember and acknowledge the sacrifices and dedication of those who have served, or are currently serving, in our armed forces,” she said.
