Canning mayor Patrick Hall on Wednesday confirmed he would be nominating for Liberal Party preselection in the Federal seat of Tangney.
“To end growing speculation, I wish to confirm my intention to nominate as a candidate for Liberal Party preselection in the key federal Seat of Tangney, a seat in which I was born and raised,” he said.
“Now in my second term as the mayor of the City of Canning, serving this community has been the greatest honour of my life and I am immensely grateful for the enormous support I have enjoyed.
“With strong lifelong connections in this electorate, my motivation for seeking preselection is to provide better representation for residents in the seat of Tangney, and to play a leading role in the decision-making which will shape Australia’s future and our way of life.”
Examiner Newspapers exclusively reported on January 18 that two City of Canning councillors would be nominating for the Liberal Party to contest the next Federal and State elections.
