
Local Government Minister Hannah Beazley visited Yellowwood Park in Harrisdale last week to celebrate the completion of $200,000 worth of youth-focused park upgrades including a new parkour fitness areas, turf mounds, study pods, hangout spaces, improved pathways, and landscaping.
It is one of three projects recently delivered in the City of Armadale via $1.6 million in state government election commitments.
On top of a $1 million addition to develop a youth space at the new Piara Waters Library, the Cook Government contributed $400,000 towards the creation of a family-friendly recreational space for the Piara Waters community, with the addition of youth-orientated equipment and park amenities at Burtonia Gardens.
The recently completed project includes the installation of a cricket net, improvements to existing basketball amenities, new playground equipment with additional shade, new shelter and picnic areas, a drink fountain and barbeque, new connecting pathways, and improved landscaping and trees.
