The Gosnells Hawks Football team had a successful day last Saturday with the league, reserves and colts all recording victories over Bassendean but the thirds went down to West Coast.

The league team put the result beyond doubt early with a seven goal first quarter and went on to win by 42 points.

Final scores Gosnells 14.14 (98) Bassendean 7.14 (56).

Best for Gosnells were Jayden Woods (4 goals), Mitch Barbet, David O’Brien and Ryan Davies.

The reserves started their march towards the finals by defeating the third team on the premiership ladder.

This week they play the top team and must continue to show improvement if they are to be considered a legitimate premiership contender.

Final scores Gosnells 8.11 (59) Bassendean 5.7 (37) and Best for the Hawks was James Bubryzcki, Daniel Hendrix, Trent Hibbitt-Murray and Kade Pescod playing his second game for the day.

The colts played their best game for the season with a convincing win over Bassendean.

Coach Paul Clements is confident his team can show further improvement and qualify for the finals.

At the moment they are sitting in fifth spot on the ladder.

Final scores Gosnells 17.7 (109) Bassendean 6.3 (39).

Best for Gosnells were Kade Pescod, Dmayne Brown, Kyle Dougan and Travis Sansom.

The thirds continue to struggle in E2 division and went down by a big margin. Final scores West Coast 17.15 (117) Gosnells 1.4 (10).

Best for the Hawks were Dennis Luffman, Chris Kessell, Lam Le and Sam Carlino.

This week’s game is dedicated to the Hawk’s charity partner beyondblue.

Fundraising activities will be held during the day and the “big shave” will occur after the league game when three footballers Luke Chapman, Wade and Caleb Goodhew will shave their heads.

A junior game will be held at half time and there will be a DJ after the football.

All games are at home at Gosnells Oval and this is a chance for members and supporters to support the club, raise money for beyondblue and enjoy a day of Aussie Rules Football.
