Hot new act Coterie will be performing at the Gosnells Fusion Food and Culture Festival.

Coterie, one of the hottest new acts out of Perth and New Zealand, is set to perform onstage at the Gosnells Fusion Food and Culture Festival next month.

An indie reggae band, Coterie is made up of four brothers from Perth with Maori heritage, Tyler, Brandford, Joshua and Conrad Fisher.

While Coterie had built a buzz among their hometown scene in the West Coast, 2022 saw the band catapult to stardom and sold-out shows.

The band’s rise to radio fame began when they released Cool It Down, a surf-skank, love letter-style anthem to their two homes, Perth’s West Coast beaches and Aotearoa in New Zealand, the home of their Maori heritage and birthplace of eldest brother Tyler.

The song climbed to the number one radio spot in New Zealand and was the number one most-Shazammed song in the country for more than three months.

By April 2022, Coterie were touring Australia supporting Six60 and playing to crowds of up to 10,000 people a night, then headlining their own Australian tour, culminating in a sell-out show at Perth’s Astor Theatre.

Gosnells mayor Terresa Lynes said the city was thrilled to have Coterie perform at Fusion along with a host of other high-quality acts and entertainers.

“Coterie are going to be a standout act to see at Fusion this year, which will showcase a high calibre of multicultural music acts, entertainers and performers across the board,” she said.

“The city is really proud to be able to offer Fusion as a fantastic free event for our residents where everyone is welcome.

“There will be roving performers, traditional dance, lots of music, arts and crafts, displays and presentations from multicultural groups, carnival rides and attractions subsidised by the City of Gosnells, and of course amazing food from around the world.”
