A Seville Grove teen has been arrested after his dangerous driving spree through Byford was filmed and shared online.
On Monday 18 November, Road Policing investigations were shown the vision allegedly depicting a white Ford Falcon ute driving recklessly.
Police are alleging that just before 10pm on Saturday, 16 November, the 19-year-old driver did ‘burnouts’ in the middle of Abernethy Road and in a nearby shopping centre carpark.
Loose wheels and a trolley jack in the back of the ute flew out during the burnouts.
Several spectators and members of the public were nearby at the time.
Last Saturday, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Seville Grove and allegedly located firearm ammunition and the Ford ute.
According to police the man had tried to conceal it by removing the tray and spray painting it in a different colour.
Police impounded the vehicle and charged him with three counts of reckless driving, driving an unlicensed vehicle, driving on the incorrect side of a median strip, and possessing a firearm/ammunition without a licence.
He is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court next Wednesday, 4 December.
“This incident is beyond disappointing, it is astounding that some people are still willing to risk their lives, and the safety of others, by driving in this reckless manner on West Australian roads,” Commander of Road Policing Command Mike Bell said.
“People recklessly endangering the lives of innocent road users, while also putting their own life at risk is something we just won’t tolerate.”
