House fire in Thornlie kills two

An elderly man and a four-year-old boy have died after a fire tore through a house in Thornlie.

At around 6.15pm on June 13 WA Police were informed of a house fire in Rushbrook Way in Thornlie.

Two people, a four-year-old boy and a 69-year-old man were found unconscious inside a bedroom of the home.

Emergency services could not confirm how long they had been inside the burning building.

The Coronial Inquiry section is investigating with the assistance of the Arson Squad.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
