Following last year’s resounding sell-out success at St Mary in the Valley, returning organ maestro Joseph Nolan will be joined by the current West Australian Symphony Orchestra’s concert master, Laurence Jackson, for this year’s concert on Saturday, September 29.
Now firmly entrenched in the local cultural calendar, this will be the fifth time this event has been presented at the Anglican Church to showcase the church’s 18th century chamber organ, reputedly the oldest of its type in Australia.
Mr Nolan is a world-renowned organist who was formerly Organist of Her Majesty’s Chapels Royal in the UK and is presently Master of Music at St. George’s Cathedral, while Mr Jackson is one of Australia’s leading violinists who has performed throughout Europe and North America and is presently Concert Master of the W.A. Symphony Orchestra.
Their exhilarating program is designed to showcase the full potential of the organ balanced with the lyrical charm of the violin.
It will include Handel’s Sonata in G Minor and movements from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, along with some lighter classics and some real fun pieces.
