To celebrate Seniors Week, a wide range of fun-packed activities and events designed to boost health and wellbeing will be held by the City of Gosnells, starting this Sunday.
Events being held across the local area include art workshops, a garden party, activities for grandparents and intergenerational groups, water safety skills sessions, a musical at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre (DRPAC), a community dinner, and a Have a Go Day outing.
With the events running from Sunday, November 10, to Sunday, November 17, this year, Mayor Terresa Lynes is encouraging senior residents to get amongst the fun.
“Keeping physically, mentally and socially active is important at any age, because of the impact it has on health and wellbeing,” Mayor Lynes said.
“I encourage seniors in the community to attend one or more of the events and make the most of the celebrations that are planned. All City of Gosnells residents deserve to enjoy a great quality of life as they age.”
There are 13 different events planned throughout the week, with 12 of them being free, and the only event that incurs a cost is ‘9 to 5 the Musical’ at the DRPAC, featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, with tickets starting from $34.
