With the sports season about to switch from winter to summer the Armadale Sporting Club has put the call out for new members.
The club encompasses the Armadale Darts Club, the Armadale junior and senior football clubs and the Armadale Cricket Club.
Chairman Bob Sutherland said the club was in need of new members and the switch between footy and cricket was the perfect time to join.
“We need new members and new committee members,” he said.
“The sporting club will need a chairman, director of finance and director of administration at the AGM in December.
“As far as the sports go, we’re jogging along nicely but they all need more players and members and that sort of stuff.
“In the league we need to form a colts side and get some more numbers down.”
Mr Sutherland said the sporting club model was great because all the different sports supported each other.
“We started in 1994, it’s a long standing club,” he said.
“The support that each team gives, darts wouldn’t survive without footy, none of us would survive without each other.”
He said the club was one of the best values in the area.
“We try and keep our costs down to a minimum with the socio economic climate and around Armadale it’s hard to keep people around with a high membership,” he said.
“We try to keep our bar prices down and our club memberships down so we can encourage people to come along.”
