Just what you need for holiday season

Rose McIver and Honor Kneafsey in A Christmas Prince.

It’s a cheesy, corny Hallmark channel Christmas movie and it’s perfect in that I know it’s not an award-winning movie but it’s going to leave me with a smile on my face.

Even the title of the movie, The Christmas Prince, is either going to make you cringe or feel excited.

I’d recommend the latter as you know you’re going to end up watching it anyway.

It’s the kind of movie you watch if you love the holidays, want to see something Christmassy or put something on in the background just for some white noise.

Either way during the holiday season you’re bound to come across it so you might as well enjoy it.

Amber (Rose McIver) is an ambitious journalist desperate for a breaking news story which will cement her as a serious reporter and kick start her career so when she is sent to Aldova to write the real story about Prince Richard (Ben Lamb) who is stereotypically tall, charming and has a British accent she jumps on the next plane and poses as an undercover tutor to get the inside scoop.

However before coronation day comes around, following a night out in a wooden cabin, love is in the air and Amber begins to discover the playboy prince is actually kind, caring and not a snob.

But is she too common for the throne of Aldova? What does the scheming cousin have to say about it all? And will Richard be crowned king at the stroke of midnight on Christmas Eve?

The only way to find out is to watch it.
