The City of Gosnells approves a dog park in Kenwick

Following a petition received from the community, Oliphant Street Reserve in Kenwick has been approved by the City of Gosnells to become a new enclosed off-leash dog park.
The City is currently seeking feedback on the project and accepting submissions on what features the community would like to see included in the new dog park.
Feedback can be given through a survey on the City of Gosnells’ YourSay website, where you can even sketch your design for the proposed dog park.
“Dogs aren’t one size fits all, and your dog park shouldn’t be either,” the City stated on its YourSay community consultation page.
“We know that all dogs have different personalities and preferences and we want to create spaces that are welcoming to all our furry friends.”
Local residents are also being encouraged to come down to Connect@Kenwick (the old Kenwick Library) on Friday, February 18, between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the plans with City staff and provide input.
The City of Gosnells said they are also currently reviewing options for additional enclosed dog parks in other areas of the City, and more information will be made available in the future.
After community consultation is received and considered, and a concept plan is developed and approved, construction on the new enclosed dog park at Oliphant Street Reserve is expected to begin in the 2025/26 financial year.
