The Dragon Boat AusChamps will return to the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre this month.
The AusChamps are Australia’s pinnacle national competition for dragon boat racing, and the last time it was hosted in Armadale was 2015.
Sponsored by the City of Armadale, the AusChamps will see hundreds of elite dragon boat athletes from all over Australia descend onto the waters at the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre, to compete in fast and furious dragon boat racing.
The event will see five days of racing beginning on Wednesday April 17, and culminating on Sunday 21 April.
This event will showcase the best teams from across the country and form the selection for those athletes vying for a spot to represent Australia internationally.
Spectators are encouraged to come and experience the best teams in the country racing head-to-head, and get a taste of this traditional Chinese water sport.
“It’s great to see the AusChamps return to Champion Lakes and we are excited to host and cheer on competitors from around Australia in April,” Mayor Ruth Butterfield said.
