Issues at the new Denny Avenue–Streich Avenue traffic lights were now resolved according to main roads WA.
The traffic lights, activated last Monday, were aimed at decreasing incidents at the level crossing but hundreds of road users took to social media to vent their frustrations at the timing and design of the lights.
When asked about the congestion and close calls drivers had witnessed at the intersection a main roads WA spokeswoman said the earlier issues had been resolved.
She did not detail how, only that signal timing had been adjusted.
“Main roads also attended the site this week and has adjusted timing of traffic signals,” she said.
The spokeswoman said traffic enforcement would be needed to stop drivers entering the intersection illegally.
“It has been reported and observed that many drivers are running the red lights however police enforcement for that behaviour would be required,” she said.
The $800,000 traffic lights were paid for by a federal black spot grant.
