Gosnells residents can apply for up to $500 to buy an effective CCTV system, after the City re-launched its Safe City Community CCTV Program last week.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said 250 home and business owners received a rebate in the first round of funding in 2022/23 and applications were now open for 2023/24.

“Rebate recipients said they felt safer after having their CCTV system installed, and many would not have been able to afford one without the Safe City Community CCTV Program,” she said.

“The program provides an easy – and affordable – way to make your home or business safer and plays an active role in helping to reduce crime in our community.

“We know community safety is a high priority for our community, and working together is the best way to improve it.”

To be eligible for the funding, applicants must register their CCTV system to the WA Police Force CamMap system and agree to provide footage to Police when requested and at least one camera must be public facing.
