Imagine a vibrant festival that brings together the sights, sounds, and flavors of the world in one spectacular celebration. Well, Global Streets, the City of Canning’s beloved cultural festival, returns to Hillview Park on Saturday, April 12
It promises an unforgettable evening of food, music, art, and tradition from 4pm to 8pm. The event, happening at Hillview Park and the Hillview Intercultural Centre in Bentley will transform into a dynamic cultural melting pot, showcasing the rich diversity of Canning’s community.
Mayor Patrick Hall said, “This is the perfect chance to come together, taste new flavours, discover different customs, and celebrate the unique cultural fabric that makes Canning such a vibrant community.”
With over 50% of Canning’s residents born overseas, the city stands as Perth’s most multicultural local government area and Global Streets puts that diversity center stage.
What’s in store? A family-friendly zone filled with international food trucks catering to all dietary needs, either vegetarian, halal or gluten-free.
There’s something for everyone to enjoy. There will be live stage performances from community groups, hands-on cultural activities, and a kids’ area packed with games, craft stations, and basketball.
Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable cups and bottles and keep their dogs leashed. Additionally, attendees are advised to opt for sustainable travel with free bike racks and nearby public transport options available.
