The wet weather didn’t deter City of Gosnells locals, with 89 volunteers enthusiastically braving the rain to plant approximately 5000 native plants at Tom Bateman Wetland in Thornlie on the weekend.
The community planting day, which was run in partnership with the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group, was held on Sunday from 9am to 12pm and saw many locals joining like-minded people doing their bit for the environment.
City of Gosnells mayor Terresa Lynes said she was thrilled by the turnout for the event.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together to do something positive for the environment,” she said.
“It was fantastic to see such great support for this event.”
