The Kelmscott Idol is on again and event organisers are looking for young people who love to sing.
If you are aged eight to 17-years-old you can apply for the chance to sing in the finals of the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Show.
Idol Coordinator Rachel John said the event was a great opportunity for young people to show their talent.
“The idea of this event is all about opportunity and extending one’s character,” she said.
“We have had performers get through to the finals even when this is their first experience on-stage.
“Contestants from past years are now developing their song writing, some have even travelled overseas or are working as musicians.”
Event organisers will also be offering performance workshops between auditions and the finals.
The categories will be for eight to 12-year-olds and 13 to 17-year-olds.
There will be a singer-songwriter division a contestant performing an original song will get the opportunity to have studio recording time.
The event is sponsored by the Kelmscott Agricultural Society, Roleystone-Karragullen Branch of the Bendigo Bank, WA Classic Sounds in Kelmscott, Corea Entertainment in Fremantle, Healthways and Examiner Newspapers.
Entries close September 1.
