A man is in custody after a terrifying armed hold-up on Champion Drive last night.
Police allege at about 10.40pm on January 24, a 20-year-old man approached a 26-year-old man from behind while he was walking along Champion Drive near Gillam Drive.
Police allege the younger man placed a metal object to the 26-year-old man’s head and demanded his mobile phone, cash and jewellery.
Police did not say what the object was.
The victim ran from the scene and alerted police, who arrested the suspect near a Seville Drive payphone.
The 20-year-old man, who is from Armadale, was charged with armed robbery and possessing methamphetamine.
He appeared before Armadale Magistrates Court on January 25.
