Langford resident Peter Fowler won his battle with Telstra over a broken manhole.
Mr Fowler said he was consistently ignored by Telstra after complaining about the problem.
He said the manhole on Albany Highway, Maddington posed a serious safety issue.
“Someone could have been seriously hurt,” he said.
“It’s been like this for ages.”
Telstra took immediate action once contacted by The Examiner.
A Telstra spokesman said crews worked on the site Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
“We have installed a temporary cover to make it safe,” he said.
“We have arranged to fix the manhole as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience it may cause businesses and residents in the area.”
