There is always entertainment galore, and of course, plenty of delicious international cuisine to try at Mid Week Eats.

The City of Canning’s epic food truck series, Mid Week Eats, is returning to Riverton Reserve West on a new night, Wednesdays from 5pm – 8.30pm.

Spread across three consecutive Wednesday nights, 26 February, and 5 and 12 March, each evening will feature a different food and entertainment experience from across the world, including Asian Fusion, BBQ Disco and a new theme, Flavours of India.

There will be something for the whole family including a range of sporting and craft activities for the littlies, roving stilt walkers, bubbles, live music and a range of cultural performances.

First up on 26 February, the Asian Fusion extravaganza will welcome the Year of the Snake with a diverse range of food from across Eastern, Southern and South-Eastern Asia, and some great entertainment by local performers from the Chung Wah Association Lion and Chinese Dancers.

Mayor Patrick Hall said he is looking forward to the return of Mid Week Eats and urges residents to come along for a mid-weeknight out with family and friends.

“Mid-Week Eats is a fantastic community event that will take the senses on a journey around the world,” he said.

“This series of events celebrates Canning’s cultural diversity and provides the perfect opportunity for the community to come together and take the night off cooking, whilst enjoying some fantastic entertainment.”

Residents are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or get in early to secure a picnic table or beanbag, then sit back, relax and enjoy a balmy night whilst the sun goes down. This is a dog friendly event, however dogs must be on a lead.

Parking will be available at the Riverton Leisureplex facility with a small overflow parking section available. As parking is limited, residents are encouraged to carpool or take public transport, or walk or ride a bike where possible. Free bike racks will be available for those considering riding down.
