Women

Saturday saw a milestone achievement as one of Kelmscott’s inaugural women’s team players, Ashley McHenry, played her long-awaited 50th game in front of a large following of family and supporters.

New AFLW recruit Imahra Cameron joined the Bulldogs with one goal, and another went to Hayley McHenry, but it was the milestone player’s day with two goals to Ashley.

The women’s team had gone without a loss for 25 games straight since mid 2023, but were outdone on Saturday, Kelmscott 4.6 (30) lost to Kwinana 8.4 (52).

 Colts

Undeterred from last weekend’s demanding face-off against the 2024 Premier Colts, the Bulldog ‘Pups’ pounced out the kennel and mauled Mt Lawley in a goal-kicking onslaught. The tall timber – Noah Soper – kicked the team five goals up forward, with players Desean Taylor Lowe, Tyson Hoare and Trenton Collard kicking three each.

VC Dean Pankhurst and Ben O’Shaughnessy kicked one each.

It was a first for brothers Zachary and Lucas Warner who finally played their first Colts game together, heartily singing the team song with teammates and coaches Kristian Egan and William Walley.

Kelmscott 16.8 (104) defeated Mt Lawley 5.8 (38).

Reserves

Kelmscott Reserves managed to do well in the second half, but it just wasn’t enough. Kelmscott 6.4 (40) lost to Mt Lawley 12.5 (77).

 League

The League celebrated two from two. Recently appointed League coach Aaron Hayden has brought new structure and foundations to the men’s teams.

Kelmscott held the lead for the entire game, with Mt Lawley only one point behind at half time and third quarter breaks.

Cody Yarran and Callum Collard excelled at the stoppages, as the final score saw Kelmscott 10.11 (71) defeat Mt Lawley 9.7 (61).

Following this Easter weekend general bye, Kelmscott will host an ANZAC tribute with a guard of honour and Last Post prior to the League Game at 3pm on 26th April 2025.

Service men and women, past players and supporters are welcome to join players and officials for the tribute.
