An elderly man suffering dementia believed to have stabbed his wife to death in their Piara Waters house earlier this year has had his murder charge dismissed.
He will instead be kept at a secure ward at Armadale Hospital until he is moved to a facility for dementia sufferers.
John Huggins, 88, was arrested after police were called to his Guerin Avenue house on March 21 where they found his 75-year-old wife with critical injuries.
She died a short time later at the scene.
