It’s time to join in the festive spirit of the holiday season with the City of Armadale’s Carols by Candlelight.

All are invited to enjoy the evening in person or by tuning into the livestream broadcast through the city’s YouTube channel.

The evening begins early with the Christmas Parade through Jull Street Mall.

The parade featured a variety of colourful characters and performances by local community groups.

Follow the parade through to Memorial Park, where Santa will address the audience and share some special words of wisdom with the children in the lead up to Christmas.

Collect your songbooks and LED candles with a gold coin donation, and join in the musical spectacular starting at 6.30pm with performances by local schools and community choirs, emerging local soloists and supported with live music by local musicians from Armadale City Concert Band.

People of all ages and all abilities are able to join in via the DADAA Accessible Viewing Area. Spaces can be reserved so people living with a disability can enjoy the carols with their families.

A range of other services will be available for those who book them, including additional ACROD parking, service dog area, tables and chairs, songbooks in braille, Auslan interpreter, audio description and bluetooth assistive listening.

Carols by Candlelight will also be hosting the Crossways Christmas Food Appeal on Memorial Park, where donations of non-perishable foods items and groceries from the community will be collected.

Crossways Community Services assists more than 1000 local families on low incomes and experiencing financial hardship within the City of Armadale every year with food and emergency relief. At Christmas, they provide food hampers and Christmas gifts for those needing assistance at this extra financially challenging time.

There will be public donation collection boxes at Armadale Fitness & Aquatic Centre and Armadale, Seville Grove and Kelmscott Libraries until Friday, 8 December. You can also drop off donations at Crossways (225 Railway Avenue).
