Police have a new lead in their investigation into a car bombing in Thornlie last month.
They want to speak to the occupants of a white car seen outside the Thornlie Mosque just hours before it became the target of the car bombing.
Worshippers had been inside the mosque for evening prayers on June 28 at about 7.50pm when unknown offenders set fire to a car parked on Tonbridge Way behind the mosque.
Three vehicles were damaged and one was completely gutted by the fire, which police believe was started with an accelerant.
Anti-Islamic graffiti was found spray painted on a wall behind the damaged vehicles.
Three people were seen running down an alleyway next to the Thornlie Islamic College towards Spencer Road, possibly to a car parked on Hughenden Drive.
This week police said they wanted to speak with the occupants of a white vehicle, possibly a late model Toyota Corolla Seca or similar, that was seen driving past the college about 5.20pm the day of the attack.
It is believed the same vehicle drove past the college again about an hour later.
Police believe the occupants may be able to assist police with their investigation.
