The Armadale and Gosnells Head to Health Centres have been rebadged as Medicare Mental Health Centres.

But it’s more than just a name change. As part of the rebrand, these centres are also having their clinical capability upgraded to ensure that every centre can provide free access to a psychologist and psychiatrist, without the need for a referral from a GP.

Support is free, and you don’t need a Medicare card to access these services. Support can be short to medium-term, and centres will provide patients with assistance in connecting to other services including housing and employment.

“Our government believes all Australians deserve equitable access to mental health care. That’s why we committed $360 million in our budget to expand free mental health services,” Member for Burt Matt Keogh said.

“These centres will help people get the care they need at every stage of distress, with support there when and where people need it.”

There are currently five Medicare Mental Health Centres in WA.

The Armadale clinic is open seven days a week (including public holidays), from 10am to 8pm.

And Gosnells is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
