Located in City West, Scitech is unveiling exciting new exhibits these school holidays, with the "Here, There and Everywhere" exhibit now open.

Scitech is set to launch a range of exciting new exhibits, thanks to a $571,000 Lotterywest grant and an extra $1 million in support from the State Government.

The funding is set to be used in the design and delivery of 18 new exhibits for the Scitech Discovery Centre, aimed at inspiring the next generation of Western Australian scientists.

The first of the new exhibits, titled ‘Here, There and Everywhere,’ opened last week and features three distinct zones where visitors can explore how science and technology are used to solve challenges in the human body, home, community, and the world.

Part of this funding boost will also be used to create exhibits focused on Western Australian scientists, industries, and First Nations science.
For over 30 years, Scitech, located in City West, has been the state’s leading hub of science education, with its interactive exhibitions, explosive shows, and hands-on experiences.

WA Science Minister Stephen Dawson said Scitech is more than just fun; it’s an essential resource for fostering STEM skills in the WA community.

“Scitech has been educating minds both young and old in science and technology since 1988 and is a key partner in the Cook Government’s skills strategy to accelerate STEM skills for Western Australians,” he said.

“We know that STEM jobs are growing at twice the rate of other jobs with an increase of 85 per cent from 2010 to 2020, with Scitech always serving as a fantastic way to get inspired by the sector.

“This latest Lotterywest grant is a great contribution to Scitech to ensure inspiration and knowledge will be shared for years to come.”
