Sections of Nicholson road will close from tonight, as Main Roads begins construction of a new road bridge over the railway in Canning Vale.
From 8pm on Friday May 4 until 5am on Monday May 7, Nicholson Road will be closed between Bannister Road and the Yale Road/Garden Street roundabout, as well as the Nicholson Road roundabout.
On Monday, the Nicholson Road shared path will remain closed.
The southbound slip lane from Nicholson Road to Yale Road will remain closed from Monday.
Changes to the road layout at the roundabout will be made once the road can be resurfaced and re-line marked.
This has been delayed due to weather conditions forecast for Sunday May 6.
Main Roads are urging drivers to take care when driving through the area, and to allow extra travel time as traffic will be delayed.
Signage and detours will be in place until Monday.
The Nicholson Road/Garden Street/Yale Road roundabout will be altered at the end of the project.
The roundabout will be re-surfaced and line marked so it operates like most roundabouts in the Perth metropolitan area.
The spiral line markings on Nicholson road will be replaced with regular line marking and signage.
Standard road signage will be in place to guide road users through the new traffic conditions.
