A 28-year-old man appeared in Armadale magistrates court this morning after an alleged dramatic chase by police late yesterday.

The pursuit across several south eastern suburbs ended dramatically in Kelmscott after a man fleeing police in a white Magna crashed into a vehicle on Third Avenue.

On Monday afternoon Armadale detectives attended an address on Moonstone Street, Gosnells to inquire about multiple offences including robbery, stealing, fraud and stealing motor vehicles.

When police arrived the driver of the Magna allegedly fled at speed despite police commands to stop.

Police airwing followed the vehicle through Seville Grove and Kelmscott before it crashed into a vehicle on Third Avenue, Kelmscott.

The man of no fixed address allegedly fled on foot before being apprehended in a backyard on Blantyre Way.

He was charged with a raft of driving offences including two counts of failing to stop, failing to comply with a direction to stop, reckless driving and no authority to drive.

He was also charged with breaching bail and two counts of robbery.

A police spokeswoman said further inquiries were being made into several other incidents and more charges could follow.
