The southbound lanes of the Albany Highway were closed while Major Crash officers investigated.

Support worker robbed

A support worker caring for a disabled person has been threatened and robbed during a break-in at Oakford over the weekend.

Armadale Detectives are appealing for the public’s assistance for information as they investigate the incident which occurred on Saturday, February 17.

About 8.15pm, two men entered the home on Tuart Road, confronting the male carer who is aged in his 30s.

The carer placed himself between the men and his client’s bedroom door as the men attempted to enter it.

The men stole the carer’s phone so he could not call police, before they fled on foot.

The men are described as being fair skinned, medium/large builds, approximately 172cms to 183cms tall, both had short dark hair, one had facial hair and the other a ‘French’ moustache.

It is believed the men are locals.

As part of the investigation, detectives are investigating whether recent comments on a local social media group, which incorrectly identified the residence as being for former prisoners, may be linked to the incident.

Armadale Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen the two men. Anyone with any information relating to this incident, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
