What are the biggest issues facing your electorate and how will you combat them?

Educational and employment opportunities, crime and transport congestions. Will combat this by: providing capital funding for my local schools, increasing the number of educational assistants and remaining on a number of local school boards to assist where possible; implementing WA Labor’s local job content policy; making our police station 24/7 public access; and fixing up Denny Ave, completing the duplication of Armadale Road and building the Armadale Road Bridge.

How will you improve job growth in the region?

Seek to improve the tourism opportunities presented by the Hills region, encourage greater retail and hospitality investment in Jull Street, encourage revitalisation of the Kelmscott CBD and further investment in Forrestdale Business Park and seek to enhance a commercial and hospitality precinct at Champion Lakes. Also will push for a government department to be stationed in our region.

What’s your plan to improve the economy?

Being part of the WA Labor team that is putting WA Jobs front and centre of our election policies including local content and apprenticeship requirements for companies tendering for WA government work; and building our train carriages in Western Australia.

What major infrastructure projects will you advocate for if elected?

I have advocated for the fixing up of the Denny Ave railway crossing mess, completing the duplication of Armadale Road and building the Armadale Road Bridge. WA Labor committing to these projects.

How do you plan to address the meth crisis?

There is no easy solution but WA Labor has a good policy in dealing with the rehabilitation of meth addicts and harsher sentences, i.e. life sentences for meth dealers.

What would be your first act if elected?

It WA Labor win the election, I will speak to the new Minister for Transport and Infrastructure to ensure the local infrastructure road projects can commenced as soon as possible and I will do the same with the new Police Minister in relation to the 24/7 public access police station in Armadale.
