A couple of world record holders, a giant marionette puppet and tours of state-of-the-art financial and media facilities are just some of the drawcards to this year’s Curtin University Open Day on August 6.
The world record-breaking How Ridiculous trio will be the main attraction to the event, where visitors will have the chance to witness and get involved in basketball stunts by former Curtin students Brett Stanford and Scott Gaunson.
Curtin University vice-president of corporate relations Valerie Raubenheimer said she was pleased the two former students were reconnecting with the university.
“Brett and Scott have done so many exciting things since graduating and their creative and ambitious approach to their profession reflects Curtin’s commitment to excellence, impact and innovation,” she said.
“The Open Day offers an opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the university to come onto campus and experience all the exciting activities, while also learning about the courses and programs on offer.”
The day will also feature a The Bone Collector game and a CSI culprit catching game, a virtual reality mine site tour and a student fashion show.
The marionette puppet, tours of the business Trading Room, Curtin’s social media centre and Curtin FM radio station will also be open for inspection.
Information on Curtin’s latest courses, study opportunities, scholarships, alternative pathways into university and mature-age entry for domestic and international students will be available too.
The event will run from 10am to 4pm on August 6.
