Roleystone Hockey Club is preparing to hit off a great winter season ahead, after Hockey WA approved their application to submit a team in the women’s over-35s Division 4 Midweek Masters competition.
The club will also field a women’s team playing Saturday afternoon social hockey on grass in the Metro 5 competition.
But Club President Lee Jefferies said more players are needed, especially for the Midweek Masters team, which plays on a Wednesday night.
“Ideally, we are seeking players aged 35 and over who have a bit of experience and are familiar with the game, for this social competition,” she said.
“Moving across to this competition is an exciting step for our club, as it’s our first official foray on turf.
“Being a small, family-friendly club with only two women’s teams means that Roleystone is a great place for players who want to return to the game, meet new people or simply have a social, fun hit on the field.”
First games for the season begin this week, with the Roleystone Metro team taking the field at 2pm on Saturday 6 April at Sutherlands Park.
The Midweek Masters side will begin next Wednesday evening, 10 April, and the home ground for both sides will be Sutherlands Park in Huntingdale.
