Around 100 people took advantage of the freebies on offer at the RSPCA WA’s Community Action Day in Kelmscott on Monday.
Pups of all shapes and sizes had a romp in Creyk Park, with the youngest in attendance, three 7-week-old Maltese x Shih Tzu puppies, stealing the hearts of vet staff and organisers.
On hand to help were six vets and one vet nurse, as well as five South Metro TAFE students.

City of Armadale rangers and RSPCA WA inspectors were also in attendance to answer questions.
A total of 65 pooches received a free health check and 18 dogs were implanted with a free microchip.
Volunteers also gave out 80 units of parasite treatment, over 180kg of pet food, and many pet beds, toys, and harnesses.
Three harmful choker chain collars were also exchanged for humane, flat collars, free of charge.
And the humans were looked after too with a free sausage sizzle.
The RSPCA’s next Community Action Day will be on Tuesday, March 25, in Thornlie.
If you’re experiencing financial hardship and finding it difficult to care for your pets, then head to the Tom Bateman Reserve, Wilfred Road, Thornlie, between 9 and 11am.
