Members of the Armadale SES unit hail from the SJ Shire, Armadale, Kelmscott, Huntingdale, Bedfordale and Southern River.

Volunteers at the Armadale SES have been given a licence to caffeinate after a local business espressoed their gratitude for the unit’s service.

Transport Services recently donated an automated coffee machine, creating quite a buzz around the unit.

Unit manager Connie Eikelboom said they were grateful for the generous donation and would put the machine to good use.

“As you can imagine we work many long hours and often through the night, so a coffee machine is a very welcome present for our volunteers,” she said.

“We would like to thank Hannah and Ryan from Transport Services for such a great donation.”

The Armadale unit is comprised of 32 emergency service volunteers who are on standby 24/7, 365 days a year to serve the community in times of need.

Over the past few months, they have been kept busy attending searches for lost people, doing temporary repairs to homes that have been damaged by wind and storms, supporting the many fires both in this area and abroad, and attending community events to do some fundraising.

Members of the unit also travelled to Carnarvon and Shark Bay to assist the community before and after the cyclone.
