Long-standing Kenwick residents Robert and Lois Stout will blow out the candles today in celebration of 60 years of marriage.

Robert and Lois Stout (nee Shepherdson) married in 1958.

The couple wedded in 1958 after locking eyes and falling in love at a dance in the south-west town of East Witchcliffe.

Moving to Kenwick in late 1958, Mr and Mrs Stout raised a family of five sons and connected with the broader community via their mutual love for music.

Over the years the pair have remained active within the City of Gosnells community with Mr Stout coaching at the Kenwick Judo Club for more than 20 years and Mrs Stout volunteering as a church musician for more than 40 years and as an accompanist to the Older Women’s Network Theatre Group for 22 years.

Mr and Mrs Stout said they believed music has been one of the factors to their long-lasting, happy and successful marriage.

Their family includes four daughters-in-law, eight grandsons, three granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
