Gosnells Police are urging residents to lock up their belongings after receiving a deluge of calls in relation to thefts from vehicles in the Maddington and Gosnells areas.
On July 16 and July 17 Gosnells Police received a high number of calls from residents in Attfield Street and Coorain Street in Maddington and Keiley Green, Bert Street, Garvey Place, Dwyer Crescent, Reigate Street and May Street in Gosnells who reported broken car windows and stolen property.
However, officers said nearly half the number of vehicles reported were unlocked at the time of the incident.
Senior Sergeant Jodie Pearson said residents needed to be vigilant and not leave valuables such as mobile phones, wallets and laptops inside vehicles.
“If valuables can be seen inside the vehicle unfortunately this can result in significant damage,” she said.
“We have identified some of the offenders and investigations are ongoing.”
Anyone with information or CCTV footage was asked to call Gosnells Police on 9398 0000.
