Recently endorsed by Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party, Thornlie candidate Sandy Baraiolo has just begun her campaign.

Ms Baraiolo said although she did not have funds or advertisements she said she had herself, family and friends and her reputation in the community for helping others.

“I was inspired to run for a state seat when I became involved in the needle exchange program,” she said.

“People had been voicing concerns but no one was helping.”

Ms Baraiolo cited concerns the white van parked outside Gosnells Markets needed a different location as it was not discreet enough for a needle exchange program.

She has been the president of the Gosnells Ratepayers Association for more than 10 years and was a City of Gosnells Road Wise member, vice chair to Armadale Road Wise, part of the Neighbourhood Watch and a board member at Yule Brook College and East Kenwick Primary School.

Ms Baraiolo said she could be found at most City of Gosnells council meetings helping members of the community.

“I am approachable and non judgmental,” she said.

“I would also like to remind people this is their vote and theirs alone for who they think is the best person for the job.”
