Three senior students from Armadale schools have each received a $750 educational scholarship in honour of much-missed former school principal and Rotary Club of Armadale member Phil Phillips.

Interviews were conducted at three nominated senior high schools in Week 3 of Term 4.

A shortlist of students from the Year 10 cohort were identified by their respective schools as having the qualities needed to excel in their scholastic pursuits.

They then took part in a selection panel to determine the ultimate winner of the award.

Winners were noted to be attentive in class, hard-working, cooperative, enthusiastic, sociable, considerate, be confident communicators, and show initiative.

Students and their families attended a celebratory dinner at the Champion Centre last Wednesday hosted by the Rotary Club of Armadale where the winners were revealed.

Congratulations to Armadale High School’s Mattea Gabrielle Canares, Cecil Andrew College’s Saraia Radcliffe, and Kelmscott High’s Jake Heald, who were chosen as this year’s worthy scholarship recipients.
