A teacher and former federal Labor candidate will take on Treasurer and Member for Riverton Mike Nahan at the 2017 state election.
Marion Boswell was announced as candidate for Riverton on Tuesday.
She is a teacher at Southern River College and ran for Tangney in this year’s federal election.
Ms Boswell faces an uphill battle for the blue ribbon seat.
Dr Nahan recorded a 13.6 swing toward him in the primary vote count at the 2013 state election.
On a two party preferred basis he defeated Labor’s candidate Hannah Beazley with a margin of 9.2 per cent.
