A teenage passenger has received life-threatening injuries after a car being driven by a p plater crashed into a tree in Mundijong yesterday.

At about 12.45pm a white Ford Falcon station wagon was travelling north on Soldiers Road when it left the road and struck a tree about 100 metres north of the intersection of Kiernan Street.

A 17-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or who saw the vehicle involved prior to the crash.

The vehicle is a white, early 2000s model Ford Falcon station wagon and had red p plates on display.
