Thornlie Senior Football Club played an exciting league game against Noranda City Football Club last Saturday.
Hundreds of supporters flocked to Berehaven Oval in Thornlie to watch the game.
The match was very competitive and while Thornlie showed some outstanding skills on the field, Noranda came out victorious.
Final scores 12.10 (82) to Noranda’s 14.11 (95).
Thornlie Senior Football Club events manager Colleen Mail said it was a very close game.
“It was an awesome day,” she said.
Ms Mail also won a competition, courtesy of radio station Nova 93.7, which saw the Nova Casanova team travel to Berehaven Oval and cheer on Thornlie on Saturday.
“I had to write in 25 words or less about our football team and that was how I won,” she said.
“We also won a commentator’s box for the day so the game was being called by a commentator.
“It was such a fun day.
“There were raffles and prizes to be won and we have a sausage sizzle.
“It was a great community feel to it and I think everyone had a really nice day.”
